Behavior therapy is an excellent way to motivate children. Behavior therapists are skilled at assisting parents and educators in encouraging desired behaviors from a child. Often, a child’s anxiety, fear or frustration can trigger a negative response or excessive emotions. These behaviors can interfere with a child’s development of specific skills in the home, at school and/or during therapy.
Each child is unique. Their specific wants and needs are important to the behavioral therapist. A behavior program is designed and tailored specifically for your child. Behavior therapy provides parents with necessary behavior strategies in a supportive, safe, and nonjudgmental environment.
What are some symptoms and/or signs that your child may benefit from Behavior Therapy?
- If your child is frustrated during therapy
- If your child has difficulties with following directions
- If it is extremely difficult for your child to remain on-task
- If your child requires a tiresome amount of redirection
- If your child is misunderstanding familiar directions
- If your child has poor safety awareness
- If you are trying to increase the performance of a particular skill.
